I live near Dallas, TX. Dont have insurance was wondering if anyone used a discount plan near hear that actually takes off some decent amount of money? My husband need his teeth cleaned and a few fillings, so i need something for him. I have upper and lower dentures so wont be using it. Please let me know if anyone knows of a insurance or diacount plan that actually works.

I have contacted the dentist’s collection agency. Wrote them a letter expaining that the bill is covered by insurance, I was told that they will look into it, never heard from them. All this happened 4-5 years ago it is showing up on my CR now. Any suggestion how to effectively fix this problem?

i have dental ins. i pay my 20%portion but because i work in the dental field ( not at this office.this is a childrens dentist..i have 3 kids) shouldnt i get a professional discount? when i first started taking my oldest (8 yr ago) i would ask and they would give me discount. but i hate asking every time!

I just got my dental proposal today from BlueCross and it is nothing more than rape. They want 53 dollars in 24 payments each year and get this, I will have no major coverage for 12 months. The only thing I will have is basically extractions, full mouth x-rays and sealants all at 80%. Preventive measures such as oral exams, cleanings and flouride treatments are covered 100%. The fee is based on a family of 3 or more. I’m thinking there has to be a more competitive plan out there even without the benefit of belonging to a group. Oh and when that major coverage does kick in after 12 months, it only pays 50%. I’m laughing through my tears! Any suggestions?

My dentist’s rates are cheaper if you don’t have insurance…this seems unfair since I have to pay 50% with my insurance.

In 2004, I was involved in a bad car wreck which left me unable to work. I was awarded a settlement. A settlement which included money for me to pay my medical bills which I incurred because of this accident. The bills totalled over 0,000. Since I payed these out of my pocket, is this amount tax deductible?

Attention "Just Me", it seems your outvoted, and for your information..The settlement was for my income, and my bills and for anyone else that helped me out during that very traumatic time of my life. I’m not able to work anymore.
Also, your wrong about the "lost wage compensation" being taxable. Before we even settled the case, I had 5, I said 5 prominent accountants from Columbus, Ohio come in and tell me their view on how I should go about having the settlement divided up. Lost wages were talked about. I was told that "absolutely" no part of my settlement was taxable. So your information is flawed. I wouldn’t have replied to "your" comment, but the CAPITAL LETTERS set me off.
Confidence is one thing, but confidence without evidence isn’t worth the time you took to type it.

My husbands plan wont cover spouses for braces. Do you know any companies and or any websites that I can get some info from. I’m looking for a company that offers a discount for braces only, I don’t need a discount on dental because I already have dental insurance. Any advice or experience with this would be a help…thanks!!!

Does anyone know of a low-cost dentist in the Roseville, CA area that can do a tooth extraction? I can’t afford the surgery to remove the tooth with a root canal needed and then a crown so I want it pulled.

I am a 23 year old student who cannot afford dental insurance. I have a bad tooth ache and am just afraid to go see just any dentist and pay out the ears. I am 19 years old and found that i am out of the healthy family program and couldn’t find any dental plans. I live in Virginia and I need some dental insurance for myself. I tried google and I only could find one company that had individual dental plans, but they never call me back. Can anyone suggest some other companies? I am not looking for any kind of discount plans or scams, I want real dental insurance. I am unemployed and my boyfriend would be paying for it. we have dental already through my husband’s work but it only works in pittsburgh PA he works for a very small company and the closest dentist is 40 minutes away plus we need a pediatric one for our son w/autism and our plan doesn’t have any. Regular dentist won’t take him as a patient even though he’s just moderately autistic.
