I have to start at a community college, but the one in my town only has dental assistant classes. Are those the same classes for dental hygienists? Well i’m planning on moving in two years to chicago so I will continue my education there. Basically what classes do I take if I want a Bachelors degree to become a dental hygienist.

If a dental hygienist notices that a dentist forgot to put on a fresh pair of gloves between patients, would it be okay for her to say something to the dentist (in front of the patient)? What would be the best way to solve this problem? The dentist has done this on occasion before.
My first time in college I earned a math degree with a 3.2 overall gpa. It has now been a few years after graduation, and I am considering going back to school to do pre-dental courses. How much weight will dental admissions boards put on my first degree when I apply? Could I lessen its influence if I take my pre-dental courses at a school other than my alma mater?
I got some dental fillings for cavities 4-5 months ago. I think I felt them right after the operation but within maybe a couple of days I didn’t feel anything, and I don’t think I feel any difference now. I also periodically get pain where one of the fillings were - I’d feel some pain for a few days and then it disappears for a month or so. Does that mean I need to get it checked again and possibly refilled?
I’m starting to make custom fangs out of dental acrylics. I’m having a hard time finding more shades and finding a place to purchase a tooth shade guide. Does anyone do this? Or know where I can buy more shades and how in the world do i mix to match?
Thanks!
I ordered a vita lumin shade guide. Now I’m hunting different colors of dental acrylic.

I need as much info I can get. I need dental bridges, implants, or both. I just need to know does the procedure hurt, do they work properly, is it a good investment? I am so young yet have to have some much work done and it is very scarey. Please help.
I don’t have any info on dental bridges and dental implants and wanted to know are they easy to install, do they work like real teeth, are they comfortable? Is there any down sides on them?
I know it is very important to medical schools, but what about Dental schools? Or is shadowing and clinical experience more important?
Is it possible to get into Dental school without undergraduate research?
I have not yet entered the dental field, but it is something I am very interested in. During one of the information sessions I attended, our speaker mentioned one male hygienist that started every day of class with 1000mg of ibuprofen to combat the pain in his hands. We were also briefed that back, neck, shoulder and wrist problems were a very real possibility. How prevalent are these issues, and is there any way to avoid it? If you cannot avoid it, is it possible to continue your work healthily?
My dental floss rips and shreds and then I am more uncomfortable as I then have food and dental floss stuck inthat small space. What won’t shred and get rid of this uneasy feeling.
I am considering whether to be a nurse or dental hygienist. I realize that being a nurse has more career specialties. Are there also opportunities for advancement as a dental hygienist, such as starting one’s own practice or moving into management. Also, are there any "traveling dental hygienist" positions that are paid. Can you join the Peace Corps as a dental hygienist? I really want opportunities, job security, and flexibility in whatever job I choose, but I would also like a pleasant work environment.
In a few months I will be working as a dental assistant. My classes have gone by so quickly I feel like I haven’t really spent as much time as I should had on certain areas, or know everything I should know to be ready for the real job..
What are the most important things the dentist will expect me to know when first starting off? Just little curious I am very nervous! (:
By the way I currently live in Montana if that matters at all.
Ok, here there is no dental school close to where I reside.BUT, there is a school for medical & dental assistants and technicians. Would it be safe to get work done at this kind of school?

I'm under the age of 18 and my parents have horrible dental insurance. Their dental insurance covers less than 10%. I need to find a place that has rather cheap dental work, but not at a dental school. (I need a lot of work done). Thanks.
I am an upcoming sophomore, but I would like to know how to apply to dental schools beforehand. I heard that in order to apply to dental schools, we have to take the DAT (Dental Admissions Test). I would like to know more about applying to dental schools. This can also help other people who are planning to go to dental schools in the near future. Thank you.
