Dental Plans Archives

i have some cash to put down on the cost and to pay for the dental plan i need a dentist that will let me make payments after the discount from plan. i need help…please thank you ….

I had one and it was totally useless. Not dental Insurance. Dental Plans, Where you might pay .00 to .00 to start and then pay - per month. I paid for over a year and I went to the dentist. I then called other dentist and told them that I had no insurance or plan and got prises -0 lessthan my plan. What a rip off.

My job offers a PPO dental insurance plan through Blue Cross / Blue Shield (Not sure which).

Anyhow, I was told by a dentist once that if I have PPO dental through my employer I could purchase an HMO plan separate from my employer and as long as the dentist takes both it should pretty much cover any expenses over which the PPO itself wouldn’t cover.

Does anyone know if this is true and could anyone recommend insurance plans that this is compatible with? Thanks.

Looking online, I see that most Dental Insurance "Max Annual Benefit" is typically 1500 per year. I recently was told that I may need some dental surgery that will cost an upward of 6000. Since Dental bills are so outrageous, are the any dental plans that cover a procedure of this magnitude, or are most people stuck with paying most of the bill out of pocket? I’ve never had dental insurance, so please excuse the ignorance. Thanks :)

Im a college student that needs dental work done. I work part time, so its hard to pay out of pocket and the place i work doesn’t offer health/dental insurance at all. What should I do?
thats the problem…i live in the US

How often does dentalplans.com pay out?

Does anyone have experience dealing with this type of dental insurance (Dental Indemnity Plans)? How does it differ from regular dental insurance?

My health insurance offers it as an option, and it looks attractive to me because it allows me to go to any dentist, not just ones in their "network". However, the annual cap is 00. The premiums end up being about 0 anyway, and I am wondering about how much of a hassle they give to people when claims are submitted. Is it even worth it?
Albert, thanks for the link. I got a quote from them. It looks like something that I might want. I am wondering though, have they raised the premium frequently? I hate when I start on something, then they keep raising the rates every 6 months.
