How should I manage my money?
Ok. So currently I work at Macy’s for .25 for 8 hours every saturday (in summer I worked 30 h per week). I go to full-time college studying enlglish for foreigners (non-degree program). I will have this until nov 17. I will have 1 month gap before I enroll in regular -degree computer science program. I have balance on my checking account only 16 left. Now I have obligation to pay 8 on credit card (more than half balance for school supplies and little dining on, transportation). What bothers me a lot is that I do not have healh insurance. I would like to buy it. There is a temporary insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield for 5 for 6 months - 00 deductible, 00 out of pocket limit, 20 % coins. hospitl admision . dental discount plan would be included and I do not have this but soon I have to go to dentist to clean my teeth from cavity on 10/20. I calculated if I spent for insurance I will have only 3 left. with no insurance 98. are the money worth spending for BC?
I don’t know what to do. What you think about my job. isn’t this too low paid? I realized I will have to spend at least 25-30$ per week for lunch. Maybe I have the start to find a second better job or internship. and still again what you think what I should do with insurance. my parents do not have insurace either in which they might me include.
packing lunch is not enough, not to much nutritional. as I walk from union station through downtown to my school about 15 min, I burn a lot of calories.
Now I get only abt per week after deductions.
BTW should I spent money for health insurance. is it worth?

Packing a lunch can certainly be nutritional. Just pack two sandwiches if necessary. As long as you are filling yourself up, and as long as it’s not junk food and contains different food groups, it’s nutritional. You could cut your lunch bills in half by packing lunches every day. Trust me, I’ve done it and done the number crunching. I used to spend $5 on union lunches, then switched to lunches consisting of a sandwich or two, an apple, and a soda. Never buy stuff from vending machines at school. You can buy snacks and sodas in bulk for like a third of the price, then just keep stuff in your backpack for when you get hungry. If you have the time, you should shoot for more like 3 or 4 work days a week, but only if you can maintain your grades while working. As for the health insurance, many colleges offer discounted health insurance through the school, so you should look into that to see if it’s a better deal than the Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Start packing your lunch because it may save you 25 dollars a week like you mentioned.
Very simple don’t make it hard, budget, make sure you pay all your bills and save the rest, be frugal. Do not throw your money
away on things you do not need., and frivolous stuff.
you must be only part time. you have not said if you pay for rent, bills,or even clothing expensive. my advise to you is that if you still live with your parents let them put you on their insurance. its cheaper and you cant afford to go to school with so little money.the BC is only worth it if you use all the accommodations it would give you other wise its not worth the money for 6 months.
Instead of putting your lunch in a lunch box have you thought of putting it in a plactice stack that you get your food in form the store? If they have then see how many hours you would have to work in order to get the benefit.Maybe it would worth working the few more hours. Also look into other health insurance plans with other people.Set down and make your self a budget. Maybe it not to late to look into more grant money. Check in with your work and see if they offer health insurance. It is worth if you always are going to the doctor. For problems such as heart or,breathing problem. Or if need to visit the dentist every so offen. Other then that then it almost better to pay out of pocket. Some state have where low income people see doctors at little to no cost. They are just as good as other doctors.
