I use to have dental coverage at a previous job but quit. Now i’m a self employed truck driver and have to provide my own insurance. I take care of my teeth the best I can but I have a few cavities that need to be taken care of. It’s effecting my self confidence to where I don’t even want to meet a girl, i know its a huge turnoff not having a great smile. Where can I go to find a good dental plan that is affordable?
I need three teeth pulled.
My teeth right now are just a little crowded, so there should be minimal surgical work required.
I reside in Illinois.
No dental insurance.
I am 19.
How much, with all these factors taken into account, how much should braces (and other procedures) cost in total? (Ballpark estimates are good–I know this type of thing varies from individual to individual)
No other work is required (i.e, no crowns, bridges, or cavities filled)
Assuming the only reason for extracting it is to no longer have to fill any cavities in the top or side surfaces of it.
I have several cavities that need to be filled and a filling that fell out fixed, I want a tooth filed down, and my teeth whitened. I know I can’t get my teeth whitened around the time I get my cavities filled, but I’m saying these things in a bundle, how much would they cost?
I also realize that costs will vary greatly, I would just like a rough estimate.
Thanks!
I’m not going to lie. I am over due to see the dentist. I take extremely good care of my teeth at home, but haven’t been to the dentist in about 8 years. I have lost one tooth on the side I chew. I now probably have about 5 cavities. I feel so ashamed for even letting it get to this point. I am broke. I am a single dad with lots of bills. My kid always goes, so don’t go there. But medicaid is a pain to get anything done. I need to know where to go to purchase my own coverage. It will need to cover my root canals, fillings, etc. I even have 2 teeth capped from when I was a youth that have never had anything done in 10 years to them. I am just at a breaking point and don’t like feeling yucky. Please help me find good coverage. Thank You!
I am twenty years old and unfortunately, have never been to a dentist. My parents could not afford dental insurance and sadly, my teeth have suffered. I was never taught proper dental care (I didn’t know you were supposed to floss daily) and only brushed once in the morning.
My two front teeth have a cavity between them, so large that it has created a very ugly, uneven gap. The two lateral incisors have basically almost completely rotted away and there are cavities forming in the incisors next to those as well. Two molars in the back have completely rotted, leaving only large brown holes in my gums.
The saddest part about this is that I was voted "Best Smile" in elementary school. : [
What’s even worse is that my wisdom teeth are about to come in. I can feel it.
I have done much research on the procedures that I will need done. For example, I know I will need extractions on my four front teeth, a root canal on two of my molars, fillings in probably 8 teeth, crowns on a few others, and I would like to get implants in the four teeth that are extracted. All of this, based on my research, would cost ,000 or more. I did the calculations to be safe.
I have CareSource but they do not cover more than two dentist appointments a year unless you have a certain condition and they stop covering cosmetic procedures after you turn 21 (I’m not sure as to why, it’s all pretty messed up).
Are there any places in Ohio that are offering smile makeover contests, free dental procedures at dental schools, or any other things of the sort? I really need this fixed before June 2010 as I am supposed to get married.
In Maryland, even with insurance my dental care estimate came out to be over ,000 for something like periodental, deep scalding and up to 6 cavities.
Should I go for a 2nd opinion or just settle with the 1st dentist?
1st dentist is a member of a group practice. Would it be more expensive to go to a private practioner in Maryland?
Hey, I’ve been assigned to be a school nurse for a day, and to teach a group of 16 kindergartners about dental hygiene.Mind you, I’m a student nurse, I’m not an educator or teacher or anything like that for the school system.. .I only get 20 minutes, and I’m kind of lost at this points on what to teach. Like, of course I’ll say brush 3 times day, floss, candy causes cavities, but I was curious as to what else I should brush on.
Also, I really really really want a game or activity to do with them, since they learn best through activities. Any ideas with that would be awesome as well.
I stay in Miami, FL does anyone know of a cheaper dentist office cause i also need to fix a chip tooth fix my cavities, and i just sensitive gum which is something else they told me they need to care I’m not sure of exactly what it was called.
I’m 33 yrs old. Over the last eight years my teeth seem to be rotting out of my head. I’ve had a few extractions when I could. In the past two years I haven’t been able to afford any more extractions (one by one I mean) and am saving my money to go to Affordable Dentures in 2009 to just get them out. Over the last 3 years the abscesses and infections have caused me to take antibiotics at least once a month. I do know all this does is buy me a little time. Here’s one problem - every single dentist, including the one at Affordable Dentures (in March 2008) will not remove my teeth, claiming I don’t understand that my teeth are like parking meters or big oak trees and are better for me to keep in (Honestly i think they all just want to keep sucking me dry financially with my teeth problems) - despite my pleas of chronic pain (it even hurts to breathe because I’m so sensitive to hot and cold- winter is worst!) , my teeth cracking and coming out in small doses and large cavities in my front teeth, and my adament stature of just wanting my original teeth out - I’m aware of all aspects of having dentures and am willing to accept them in order to begin having my healthy life back. Please, someone who is in the dental field, please write back all the cons of constant antibiotic use, chronic abscesses, chronic infections and what they can do to my overall health and what all this is doing to me (physically, mentally, emotionally)- I have 3 children to live for - i really don’t want to die because dental professionals refuse to remove my teeth even though I had the money to pay….I appreciate an expert opinion because I am so very tired of exsiting, not living - my standard of living is decreasing every DAY due to these problems - I just want to be able to smile again, talk without fear someone will see my teeth or fear of extreme pain when my mouth opens - i can live with the pain of having teeth removed - what I can not deal with any longer is the daily chronic pain my teeth give me!!!!!!! thank you!
