I have a deep cavity in my tooth. It’s really starting to hurt me. I know it needs drilled and filled, but I barely make enough money to pay bills, let alone dental care. My job doesn’t offer dental insurance, either. Is there anything I can do?
My daughter is 4 years old and been doing teeth cleaning and check up regularly since she was one year old. She is not afraid of the dentist. Unfortunately we were not able to visit the dentist for half a year and she developed 2 big cavities on her upper back teeth that needs to be treated. She is happy going to the dentist and will sit on the dental chair on her own. She will open her mouth but wont let anything put inside it. The dentist tried to convince her for about 30 minutes- no crying , she enjoyed sitting on the dental chair, she told the dentist that she will have her teeth treated when she turned 5 yrs old- the dentist gave up and told me to make another appointment .
We tried to convince her that the procedure does not hurt, the dentist will just brush out the bad cavity. Her sister- 5 yrs old- who went the same treatment even testified that the water used for gargling is grape flavor and it doesnt hurt.
And I bribed her that if she will let the dentist treat her teeth- I would buy her a bike. I am thinking of holding a fake birthday party so she will be 5- then we can have her teeth treated. For the last few days , I have been talking about this teeth treatment in preparation for the next dental appointment , and she said she does not want to hear anything about it anymore. I fear that she might develop fear of the dentist so I stopped. We have the next dental appointment tomorrow. Any suggestion please?
My daughter (4 year old) has a cavity in two teeth . I took her to the dentist and he said it would cost 88 to fix it . I and my husband have dental insurance but did not take dental insurance for both my kids . I did not think a 4 year old would have a dental problem . 88 is too much for me . Any suggestions
Im 23 and make very little the most i could pay out is like 25 bucks a week and I have a cavity in my upper tooth towards the back.
Do you know of a dental office or dental insurance place that will work with me ?
Please help me.
Ok. So currently I work at Macy’s for .25 for 8 hours every saturday (in summer I worked 30 h per week). I go to full-time college studying enlglish for foreigners (non-degree program). I will have this until nov 17. I will have 1 month gap before I enroll in regular -degree computer science program. I have balance on my checking account only 16 left. Now I have obligation to pay 8 on credit card (more than half balance for school supplies and little dining on, transportation). What bothers me a lot is that I do not have healh insurance. I would like to buy it. There is a temporary insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield for 5 for 6 months - 00 deductible, 00 out of pocket limit, 20 % coins. hospitl admision . dental discount plan would be included and I do not have this but soon I have to go to dentist to clean my teeth from cavity on 10/20. I calculated if I spent for insurance I will have only 3 left. with no insurance 98. are the money worth spending for BC?
I don’t know what to do. What you think about my job. isn’t this too low paid? I realized I will have to spend at least 25-30$ per week for lunch. Maybe I have the start to find a second better job or internship. and still again what you think what I should do with insurance. my parents do not have insurace either in which they might me include.
packing lunch is not enough, not to much nutritional. as I walk from union station through downtown to my school about 15 min, I burn a lot of calories.
Now I get only abt per week after deductions.
BTW should I spent money for health insurance. is it worth?
I live in pa and I need dental coverage. Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom. But I have recently decided I am going to start looking for a job. I am in a common law marriage. My significant other and I are going to terminate that in a few months (long story) once we get that much extra saved up. We do live together. He works, but his work does not have much of a dental plan and they didn’t opt for common law coverage when they signed with their insurance companies. But because we are common law right now, I do not qualify for medical assistance. We are paying off a loan until about the end of september so we are basically living paycheck to paycheck with a tiny bit extra just in case something come up. Anyway, my point is that I think my only other option is to purchase dental individually. Even if I found a job soon, I will have to wait at least 3 months til I can buy their coverage. So, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy coverage and how much it will cost me.
ps i am freaking a little cause I noticed one of my front teeth in between in getting a cavity. eee! I do floss just about every day, but when I was younger, I was chasing this guy friend of mine and he lived in this corner house. I chased him out the door and around the corner, but the sidewalk was unlevel and I fell onto the paved road. My two front teeth hit the ground hard. I little teensy tiny rocks stuck into the surfaces of them. I got the rocks removed, but my teeth remain with a small gap between them since then. This pushed them into the ones next to each and one of them is the one that is getting the cavity on it. I know it’s cause they are pushed together and I wish I had the money for whatever I need to do to fix the space and crowding too, but I haven’t. Anyway, if anyone knows what I will end up having to have done to fix that as well, please share the info!
sry forgot to say that I live in Luzerne County Pennsylvania (northeast)
I just found a cavity forming on my bottom right wisdom tooth. I’m freaking out because 1 I take good care of my teeth and 2 I have no dental coverage and can’t afford to pay to have it fixed. I can’t even afford to do payments… What can I do??
I’m really frustrated and hoping for some advice.
I don’t have dental insurance. Nor am I by any means rich (work for a church). I had to find a new dentist in metro Boston (I’ve been in Boston for 6 years now and was still flying to Maryland to see my family’s dentist every 6 months…). I did my research and found a dentist who participated in a dental discount network to help defray the no-insurance expense.
I knew I had two cavities from my previous dentist. I had them filled by the new dentist. New guy said there was a 50/50 chance that one of the cavities he filled would need a root canal. A week later I was in serve pain and needed a root canal (,000 + another ,000 to have a crown on afterwords).
New dentist also said I had three small cavities that should be filled, but not to worry none of them were near the root. Knowing that small cavities become big ones, become root canals - I had them filled. Now one of those cavities is showing the same pain symptoms of the other cavity that needed a root canal. I absolutely don’t have another ,000 to pay for it.
I may be reaching, but I’m questioning if this new dentist has filled these cavities in such a way to make the chance of needing a root canal higher (after all he gets the $$ for doing the crowns). i.e. Is he drilling deeper than necessary (making the opportunity to disturb/infect the root more likely?).
The combination of a few things have made me skeptical about his competence: 1) he participates in this discount network (wouldn’t a good dentist not need to offer discounts?) 2) the office is rarely busy and they always seem to have openings the next day, week, whenever 3) it’s not the nicest, cleanest office 4) i found zero information on this dentist (albeit positive or negative) 5) I’M IN PAIN
Should I see another dentist and ask if these cavities have been properly filled (which will cost more $$$)? Should I confront the dentist? Meanwhile, I’m in constant dull pain, ,700 in the hole from dental work (potentially ,700) and NONE of these teeth hurt to begin with. I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of, knowing that I want to keep my teeth in good condition and being squeezed for ever non-insured penny I have. It’s keeping me up at night (the money and the feeling of being ripped off). I’ll have to sell my car in order to have ANOTHER root canal done.
What do I do?

I have the standard Delta Dental insurance that is common for many employees, and am finding that I will still have to pay a lot out of pocket for work that is needed, especially since I may need a potential root canal and crown in a cavity the dentist identified.
Does anyone have information regarding additional help for dental financing/insurance? My plan maxes out at ,200 per person per year. It seems like I must simply pay for the rest of the costs myself, but wondered if anyone is aware of any other solutions?
Does this happen to you? When we went to a dentist, he said you have cavity and also need to go for gum treatment. For second opinion we went to another dentist and says everything is fine. Then after six month this second dentist says you have to go for gum treatment to periodentist, but we didn’t and changed dentist again. The new dentist says you have no problem and everything looks good to me. So how we know that you is telling truth? We feel like when you have insurance then the dentist would definitely try to send you to oral surgeon or periodentist like he is getting commision sending patients to them. Also these oral surgeon and periodentist are in the same office as general dentist most of the time.
I have this horrible toothache. I don’t know what it is, could be a root canal or I have cavity. The thing is, I don’t have any insurance and i don’t really have money either but i need to get it check out bad cause it’s a constant pain i am suffering from. If anyone know the cost for dental visit, please let me know. Thanks
I know I have a cavity and one of my fillings broke off awhile ago, but my tooth is throbbing right now, but I have no insurance. I live in northwest indiana. Anyone know where I can find a cheap plan or how I can get cheap dentist help?

will a dentist school be alright to get a cavity filled? i mean, will it have about the same quality as the dentist?
I am almost positive I have a cavity
But I have no dental insurance, what normally happens and how much do you think I will have to pay?
How much does a visit to the dentist cost around? i havent been to the dentist in a long time and i think iv got a cavity and there is a tooth that needs fixing, it really bothers me. so approx. how much would a visit to the dentist cost?
Hello, I am located in Northern CA and I have Kaiser health insurance. Do they also have dental coverage? Is it expensive to add? Does it cover a lot of procedures? I’m asking b/c I have a cavity that needs to be filled?
I have the co-payment plan.
My husband is in the military and we have United Concordia Dental coverage. Unfortunately, this plan doesn’t cover much because we’ve had to pay over 0 for one child already this year and now we’re looking at at least 0 for his brother. Is there any governmnt agency that helps with dental bills? Or is there some other program that I can combine with our dental insurance so we don’t pay so much out of pocket? Any help is appreciated!
My dentist DOES participate with United Concordia, they just don’t cover a lot. For example, they think that conscious sedation is an "elective" because a 4 year old should be able to hold still to have a cavity filled right? So stupid, it might be an elective for an adult but not for a child in my opinion. They also have a really low cap, my 4 year old is almost at his max for the year already. To get his cavity filled I had to pay 5 out of pocket for the full price of the sedation and co pays for the other stuff. United Concordia does not provide very good coverage in my opinion, so I’m looking for something to supplement it.
Does anyone know any dental plans that i could afford? Im 18 and dont live at home so moneys tight.?

My family don’t have insurance and I need to visit a dentist because I am having cavity. Does anyone know how much is the cost to visit a dentist and fix my cavity without an insurance? I am considering buying insurance for my parents and my self. I need advice on this matter. Please help. Thanks a lot.
I was wondering about how much it would cost to get a cleaning at the dentist sans insurance or whatever. My job doesnt have benefits. Any idea? Also what happens if i have a cavity?
I am considering a plan that is 0/year, the Aetna Dental Access plan. However, my savings account could cover Oral surgery for wisdom tooth extractions, cleanings, exams, and an occasional cavity (this is work that I will need). Would I be better off to just pay for these with my savings? I know oral surgery will be like 00 but the plan will only get me like 10-30% discount.
