dental implants for my daughter who is 10 years old? Do they do them? Do implants hurt?

I am in dire need of dental implants. Can anyone give me an idea of the cost involved? I will need a complete lower assembly and a partial upper assembly. Can the procedure be performed in one or two visits? Also I take Warfarin daily and have a history of blood clots.

I had dental implants and bone grafting done on teeth 7/8 on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Both teeth were pulled at the same time. On March 14, I had them checked, no X-rays done by the Periodontist who did the work. He said it looked solid. What does that mean? How can they know if the implants are going ok just by looking at the site? Also, he said I could schedule my impressions for two weeks from now. Is that too soon for front teeth? I feel as if they are still healing. Will my restorative dentist know if it’s too soon for impressions? How long does the front teeth normally take and what about upper back teeth? I also just had a cleaning done on Tuesday and the dental hygeniest cleaned my implants too. I didn’t feel pain or discomfort when she did. If these go well, I may want to replace a few in the back too someday. What are the risks on the back top teeth as opposed to the the front top teeth? How soon for back teeth to heal if fronts only needed two months?

Also, I am looking for a general dentist who has enough sense not to try to do dental implants themselves but works with a specialist. Also, I am looking for a dentist who is genuinely concerned about my health and not just out to make money.

My teeth are terrible and even though I clean them twice a day I have lost 4 back teeth and have another 3 chipped . Obviously they won’t grow back so I’d like to know how much dental implants would cost .Not false teeth .

About 8 years ago, I had a dentist drill into my mouth before the novocaine kicked in. Since then I have been terrified of the dentist. I need: 5-6 broken teeth in the back fixed / removed, I need 2 dental implants (or whatever) to plug in 2 teeth missing in the back of my visible smile. Cost is a big issue, and I have 2 things to help me. 1. insurance and 2. an FSA (flexible spending account) which is money taken out of my check each week which is put into an account that you can use for medical expenses as you wish (even cosmetic surgery.) I can use 00 a year. I am wondering about dental colleges- do they do dental work at a discount? What about dentists that cater to people who freak out? Could I just start over w/ dentures? I am new to Columbus and am so confused where to start. Are there medical counselors? The dentist who drilled into my mouth w/out novocaine is being sued by about 40 people for mistreatment and will lose his license, I’m sure. I’m not in the lawsuit.

Dr Sam, you said it all. From a broader perspective dentists from Iraq, Iran etc come to US to get healthy earnings than are available to them back home. Conversely, US citizen can also think of traveling to Iran, Iraq Hungary, Thailand, India, etc if good references are available to make great saving on treatments. Exporting details can be checked from companies like Nobel Biocare etc. The dentists in those countries are not hammering dental implants into the trees or putting the porcelain crowns on the flowers; instead good percentage is ending up in the European and Americas mouths. These are the times of free economy. When back office operations can be outsourced to third world countries, general public deserves equal dignity to ‘outsource’ treatments abroad and pay upfront instead of looking for charity within own country.

A dentist I saw said that it is difficult to place dental implants in the far back of the mouth-especially the 2nd molar region. He said the reason is there is less bone in the far back of the mouth. Is there a way around this? Are dental implants still successfully placed in the 1st and 2nd molar areas of the mouth frequently? I have two 2nd molars on the top right and lower left that may eventually need to be replaced by implants.

Lets face it no one wants to loose any of their teeth. For some of us though illness, bad genetics, and old school dentists have led to our teeth needing to be pulled. I had to have one of my molars removed recently and I am interested in permanent dental implants. I have seen they can cost anywhere from 00-000. Dental implants,bone/gum implants etc. seem to be good alternatives to dentures. However, if the process takes 18 months from start to finish, isn’t that process a bit long?Teeth have to be removed for the implant.What happens to the appearance while one is waiting for a new smile?Wouldn’t it be expensive too?
