I need to see a dentist about a toothache I’ve had since December. I lost my job and benefits last September. I can’t afford to pay a dentist cash. I do have a small reserve, though, and want to know if the discount dental plans out there really help to save money? I don’t want to get insurance because the premium will be more expensive than just walking into a dentist’s office and paying cash.

I have a deep cavity in my tooth. It’s really starting to hurt me. I know it needs drilled and filled, but I barely make enough money to pay bills, let alone dental care. My job doesn’t offer dental insurance, either. Is there anything I can do?

I am planning to get dentures and of course I am very nervous. I have a couple of questions: 1. I would like to know if anyone has gone to a place where they only do extractions and dentures same day. What was your experience? I am going to affordable dentures where they do it all in one long day. Input on this would be helpful. 2. how long did it take for you to get used to wearing your dentures, eating and speaking with the? I am taking a week off of work because my job is alot of talking? 3. Anyone with personal information feel free to reply. I want to go into this really knowing what to expect. I am VERY nervous and have been waiting a long time for it. Thanks alot! ♥
Oh yeah, i have to get all my teeth pulled and was wondering about how long you were in pain for. I am already in pain most days so this is just a sidenote ♥
Also, do they look realistic and did they try to slip out of your mouth alot?

I basically maxed out my dental insurance I have with my job because I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I still need different things done like filling cavities and a cap. I need to find another affordable insurance company to sign up for quickly so I do not cause too much harm to my teeth. Ive had painful tooth aches to the point that I have had to get root canals and have teeth pulled so I am really hoping to find something quick before it ever gets that bad. Please help!

*If this is anything helpful
I live in Oklahoma near Elk City
Which i read some where oklahoma is
one of the worst states for health care
Is there a state near by that is better
as Id like to move to a state with better health care.

I just graduated college and my insurance ran out. I am taking a job that starts in September and will give me full health coverage 1 month after I start. I am a young and fairly healthy female, although I do have IBS and some other problems, mostly relating to the digestive system, reproductive system, and my skin. I eat a balanced diet and try to exercise regularly. I have only needed to visit the emergency room 3 times in my entire life.

When responding, please give me an informed answer, not just yes or no. Please also explain your reasoning.

Also, other than Aetna or Cobra, is there any other short-term insurance I can purchase?

Doctor’s answers especially welcome.

Thank you!

I recently lost my job, and I had health insurance through my company. How long will my coverage last? And does anyone suggest any good health insurance companies/plans. Thanks!

I work for a great company that provides health & dental insurance from the very first time you start the job. My boyfriend of three years that I live with, does not have any insurance & the company he works for, does not provide good ones, only health plans.

So, a long question short, can I add him to mine if we live in Broward County, State of Florida.

I am unable to recieve dental insurance from my job. I need some work done asap. I googled dental insurance/plans and got some hits. First question-are these companies legit?

also. Does anyone else have independant dental insurance that they didnt get through their job? and is it good? Thanks!!

I currently live in Canada, Ontario to be exact. I have just recently lost my job and wasn’t covered by dental coverage anyway. But over the past while I had a tooth that rotted due to me having soft teeth in my mouth and at first it didn’t really bother me to be honest but it just broke in half and now every time I move my tongue it hurts more than sin itself.

I tried OW (Ontario Works), which is assistance, to see if their dental coverage could at least get the tooth removed properly and the infection in my gums dealt with (Also, the tooth is a small molar) and to no avail. I’ve been trying to find a job and also considered seeing if a dentist around here would take installments so I could just go on assistance and pay for it that way to no avail on either.

It’s starting to get irritating, extremely irritating, that it’s this hard to get some basic dental work done. I’m about ready to start doing some terrible things to what most would consider good people.

Anyone have any answers that can help?
