why do dental bills cost a fortune?
I just had a root canal done which was 00 and now I need a post and a crown! How much are both of these? I already have enough medical bills to pay and I dont need extra stress on me to have my guardians pay more. I have acid reflux so I always gag when my dentist puts anything in my mouth and have bitten a dentists finger by mistake and have thrown up in the room too. Should I find a new dentist who I feel comfortable with?

Call various dentists and compare prices. Most dentists in my area charge over $1000 but I found one that charges about $950. I have Delta Dental Insurance which costs me about $55 per month. The materials used in crowns and caps is very expensive; costs go up for dentists also. If you have a dental school nearby go there for treatment.
Re acid reflux which I have too, when I’ve eaten too close to bedtime I sleep on two pillows. It’s uncomfortable but it works. Keeping the head elevated keeps the acids where they belong - in the stomach. I check the time when I go to bed and if I awaken and it’s been 5 hrs since I’ve eaten I get rid of the second pillow. It takes the stomach 4 to 5 hours to digest the food.
yes find one that ur comfortable with i think that will help. dentists are all crooks and that is why the bills are so high!
Dentist have to pay hundreds of thousands to go to school and get licensed. They also have to pay for the office, all the material and equipment, and pay for all of their trained staff members. They charge what they have to charge to stay in business.
